The MICROLIT KENO PRO/MINI Vacuum Aspirator is a versatile laboratory waste-management system developed for the safe, controlled and efficient aspiration of liquid waste. It is suitable for a broad range of laboratory and clinical applications, including removing supernatant after centrifugation, disposing of culture media, aspirating liquids from tubes and vessels, and cleaning up bench-top spills.

The range is available in two main configurations:

MICROLIT KENO PRO

The KENO PRO is designed for higher-demand laboratory and medical applications. It provides an adjustable vacuum range from 0 to -850 mbar, with a maximum airflow of 15 L/min and liquid flow rates ranging from approximately 23 ml/sec to 40 ml/sec.

Its Eco-Control function optimises pump performance, reduces energy consumption and helps maintain a quieter working environment. The system operates at less than 65 dB at maximum vacuum, making it suitable for routine use in laboratories where noise control is important.

An intelligent liquid-level sensor detects when the collection bottle reaches capacity and enables automatic shut-off, helping prevent overflow. Selected KENO PRO models also feature self-closing quick couplings, which keep the system closed and help prevent droplets and aerosols from leaking during operation or disconnection.

KENO PRO models are available with 2-litre or 4-litre polypropylene collection bottles. The bottle holder has a stable, fence-like design to reduce the risk of accidental tipping, while the sturdy bottle handle supports safe transport and can also function as an accessory stand.

MICROLIT KENO MINI

The KENO MINI is a lightweight, portable aspirator designed for mobile clinical use, quick laboratory procedures and environments where external power may not always be available.

It incorporates a built-in rechargeable lithium battery, allowing cordless operation and extended use from a single charge. The MINI provides a vacuum of approximately -580 mbar, with a maximum airflow of 3 L/min and liquid flow rates between approximately 23 ml/sec and 40 ml/sec.

Available with 500 ml or 1-litre polypropylene collection bottles, the MINI weighs approximately 485 g, making it easy to transport between workstations or clinical environments.

Compact and Ergonomic Design

Both KENO PRO and MINI feature compact dimensions and a small footprint, helping conserve valuable bench space. Their space-saving construction also makes them suitable for use inside laminar-flow hoods.

A smart switch allows the operator to start the unit and select the required vacuum level quickly. The brushless DC motor supports smooth, reliable and relatively quiet performance.

Versatile Aspiration Kit

The MICROLIT KENO system can be used with a comprehensive aspiration kit designed for multiple laboratory vessels and formats. Interchangeable tools connect to the hand-held controller, allowing liquids to be aspirated from:

• Test tubes and bottles
• Petri dishes and other vessels
• T-flasks
• 24-well and 96-well plates
• Containers using standard pipette tips

Available aspiration accessories include single-channel stainless-steel needles in different diameters, an eight-channel stainless-steel needle, and single- or eight-channel adapters for 200 µl and 1,000 µl pipette tips. Selected adapters include tip ejectors for convenient operation.

The aspiration kit can also be customised according to specific laboratory requirements.
